Senior Advantage – Program for Adults 55+

March 27, 2008 – Advances in medicine and the trends toward better lifestyle choices are allowing people to have more active, productive lives as they get older. Glenwood Regional Medical Center recognizes these positive changes and has designed a unique program to further promote healthy living in adults over the age of 55. Glenwood’s Senior Advantage program offers health screenings, educational opportunities, social networking and exercise programs to enhance the lives of older adults in Ouachita Parrish.

“Glenwood has always been here to support mature adults in our area who are having health issues that need to be addressed,” said Ron Elder, CEO of Glenwood Regional Medical Center. “We are so pleased to offer this exciting program that promotes and celebrates health in a segment of our population that is so important to us all.”

Some of the offerings of the GRMC’s new Senior Advantage include:

  • Health Screenings – A variety of health screenings will be periodically offered to members free of charge or at a reduced rate
  • Educational Seminars – Conducted by local physicians and health professionals on a variety of topical health concerns
  • Support Groups – Social and Interactive Events

“Our Senior Advantage Program is a great complement to Glenwood’s Community Resource Center.” said Sharon McClain, Marketing Director. “With the wealth of education materials already housed at the center, it makes it a perfect place to host many of our Senior Advantage activities.”
